Bettys & Taylors Group is seeking a Group Finance Director to safeguard the Group’s financial health and act as a trusted strategic partner to the Co‑CEO, Board and Shareholders. You will lead the Group Finance function and provide executive oversight of Central Procurement and Group Property functions, ensuring the effective stewardship of all financial resources and assets. This is a pivotal role at the heart of the organisation, balancing long‑term vision with disciplined control, and strategic insight with operational excellence. This role will be part of our newly created Group Executive Team, accountable to the Co-CEO, which is responsible for the successful delivery of our Group goals. Other roles in that team are Bettys Managing Director, Taylors Managing Director, Group Technology & Digital Director and Group People Director. The Group Executive Team (abbreviated to GET) is accountable for: Leadership of the day to day and near term running of the Group Implementation and delivery of the Group strategies Insight on how strategic plans are playing out in practice, influencing those closely connected with the development of strategies. Key responsibilities: Strategic partner to the Co-CEO, Board and Shareholders, horizon scanning and providing financial insight to support long-term planning and decision making Partners with the Group Executive Team to ensure that the Group is operating effectively, resourced appropriately to deliver its objectives and meet performance targets across all agreed metrics Contributes to the Strategic Network, providing insight and challenge to support the delivery of the Group’s Future Picture goals Provides effective leadership and development of Group Finance, Central Procurement and Property teams, building strong internal relationships, ensuring high performance and establishing a clear plan for succession Establishes a Group-wide approach to financial and business planning, incorporating performance measurement and reporting, to support the long-term sustainability of the Group. Develops financial modelling and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making in volatile environments Responsible for all aspects of the Group’s financial control and risk management, including policy, process, internal controls and regulatory compliance Holds the role of Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) and is responsible for all aspects of treasury and cash management, including FX and commodity hedging Leads all engagement with key financial stakeholders, including external auditors, tax advisors, bankers and HMRC Builds trusted relationships with Shareholders and the Board, ensuring long-term performance and value are clearly communicated. Accountable for the strategic oversight, governance and financial stewardship of all Group Property Services activity, ensuring robust control of major property investments, the Group's property portfolio, compliance processes and operational delivery through leadership of the Group Property Director. Accountable for the strategic oversight, governance and financial stewardship of Group-wide indirect procurement, ensuring robust procurement policy, effective management of relevant supply chains and key suppliers, risk management, value delivery and adherence to commercial and sustainability best practice through leadership of the Head of Central Procurement. Is an advocate for and oversees the delivery of our Group-wide strategies on Change, OD, Strategic Thinking and Practice and Sustainability within the Group Executive Team and in their area of business leadership About you: You will bring a blend of strategic, technical and people leadership excellence, including: A recognised accountancy qualification with significant senior finance experience. A track record of influencing strategy at Executive and Board level. Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and evolve complex functions for the future. Exceptional communication skills and emotional intelligence, enabling strong internal and external partnerships. Commercial acumen and sound judgement in complex, fast‑changing environments. A progressive mindset with an appetite for modernisation, innovation and new technologies. This is a demanding, full-time role, based at our main site at Plumpton Park in Harrogate, HG2 7LD.
