They are now looking to expand the team by recruiting a Test Engineering Manager, or a Senior Test Engineer, ready to step into their first managerial role to provide leadership and direction to a team of Test Engineers and Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
* This role combines technical leadership with hands-on involvement in complex testing operations
* Around 25% of the role focuses on team leadership (6 Test Engineers and Technicians) and people management, with the remaining 75% focused on technical execution and problem-solving
* Provide day-to-day guidance and technical mentorship
* Conduct performance appraisals, one-to-one meetings, and general team oversight
* Set clear objectives, allocate tasks, and ensure work is delivered to the required standard and on time
* Play an active role in the technical delivery of test operations
* Drive test development and problem-solving initiatives
* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
* Provision of test support to the R&D team and product engineering
* Use bespoke simulation software integrated with test platforms
* Apply LabVIEW and Python in test development and automation tasks
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Current role as a Test Engineering Manager or Senior Test Engineer stepping up into a managerial position
* Product and industry experience: RF & Microwave, Semiconductor, Electronics, or High-speed Analogue Electronics as well as someone who is working in Academia
* Education: HNC/HND or degree preferred, though apprenticeship and shop-floor experience are also valuable; a background in physics/physical sciences, mathematics, or electrical/electronic engineering is desirable
* Key Skills: LabVIEW or Python are the preferred tools, but other programming languages are also considered
* Must have experience in test development
* Based in or willing to relocate to County Durham
