Registered Nurse / Paramedic - School Immunisations Sandwell
Working Hours: Flexible (Part time / Full Time) - Monday to Friday between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake clinical and administrative duties related to immunisation, mainly delivered on-site for primary and secondary school children and in community clinics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work collaboratively to support the team, organization, and stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
* Vaccinate 20 to 25 schoolchildren per hour during flu season.
* Promote and support the operation of the School Aged Immunisation Service.
* Support Programme Managers, Team Lead, and Clinical Lead as needed.
* Attend various sites as directed.
* Provide effective, evidence-based care to patients.
* Participate in clinical supervision and staff development.
* Report and monitor clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints per organizational policies.
* Participate in audits, recommend improvements, and share outcomes for learning.
* Maintain up-to-date records following policies and guidelines.
* Contribute actively to team meetings.
* Undertake Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from parents/caregivers.
* Perform other duties appropriate to the role.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification
Skills
* Immunisations and proof of Hepatitis B, MMR & Varicella.
* Understanding of the Routine National Immunisation schedule.
* Knowledge of informed consent principles.
* Computer literacy, especially Excel.
* Effective written and verbal communication.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Assertiveness, teamwork, and critical thinking.
* Driving license required.
* Signed competencies for relevant vaccinations (Desirable).
Qualifications
* Registered nurses and midwives with the NMC.
* Nursing and/or Midwifery qualification.
Experience
* Registered healthcare professionals (NMC, GPhC, HCPC).
* Ongoing professional development evidence.
* Experience working within PGD frameworks.
* Understanding of the immunisation schedule.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, to verify any criminal convictions.
