Service Group Director of Operations (Mental Health, LD and Autism)

Main duties of the job
This role will be responsible for the Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Service Group. The Service Group is circa 1340 staff with a budget of £76 million.

* Health Based Place of Safety
* Let’s Talk (NHS Talking Therapies)
* Integrated Community Teams
* Gloucestershire Recovery in Psychosis
* Individual Placement Support
* Community Mental Health (Later Life)
* Memory Service
* Learning Disability Intensive Support Service
* Community Learning Disability Team
* ADHD Service
* Autism Service
The Service Group is divided into three delivery units:
* Urgent and Inpatient
* Planned and Preventative
* LD, Autism and Specialist
Job responsibilities
Leadership – The post holder will provide positive and inspiring leadership to a wide team throughout the Service Group, fostering a culture that enables front‑line staff to deliver best practice clinical care.
Operations Management – Provide assurance on the delivery of the Service Group to the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Team and Committee, identifying, assessing, managing, escalating and reporting risks.
Service Planning – Ensure the Service Group is aligned with national service development policies, and lead strategic and operational partnerships with Acute Trusts, Adult Social Care, GPs, commissioners, voluntary and community sector providers, and experts by experience.
Qualifications
* Master’s degree level education or equivalent experience in management or a related professional qualification.
* Evidence of recent and continuing professional development.
* Experience working with primary care partners in the joint delivery and/or development of services.
* Coaching and/or mentoring qualification.
Professional / Managerial / Specialist Knowledge
* Highly effective communication skills enabling partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Extensive knowledge and experience of healthcare service delivery.
* Significant experience in senior leadership across a wide range of mental health services.
* Knowledge of national NHS and Social Care policy.
Experience
* Proven track record of achievements at senior operational management level in a complex health‑care or related organisation.
* Experience working with primary care partners in the joint delivery and/or development of services.
