Our Major Reactor Island Equipment design function is responsible for the critical components in the Reactor Island, including the Reactor Pressure Vessel, Control Rod Drive Mechanisms, Reactor Head Arrangement, Pressuriser, Steam Generators, Accumulator Vessels, and Supports and Structures. Reporting to Heavy Vessels Manager, we seek a Senior Engineer (RPV) to join our Heavy Vessels team to develop a fully-integrated technical solution and delivery programme for the Reactor Pressure Vessel.
Responsibilities
* Develop multiple programmes to ensure success of the generic design and lead on site‑specific product design activities.
* Support progression of the RPV design through regulatory landscapes including Generic Design Assessment.
* Manage the programme and associated costs.
* Deliver key programme deliverables and milestones.
* Inspire, lead, and develop the team.
* Travel regularly between different sites within the UK and internationally and support engagement with key suppliers.
Qualifications
* You will be a Chartered Engineer or actively working towards achieving this, and hold a degree level qualification in a relevant area.
* Experience with the product design, analysis, verification, manufacture, and in‑service support for an RPV.
* Demonstrable experience of leading concept design into detailed design, verification, and manufacturing readiness.

* Salary between £53,800 and £66,500.
