We’re looking for a Choir Leader with musicality to bring people affected by cancer together. Do you have strong admin, customer service and organisational skills? Are you passionate and enthusiastic about inspiring people affected by cancer to sing for enjoyment together?
Responsibilities
* Oversee four ‘Sing with Us’ choirs in your area and lead rehearsals for one of these choirs in the Mid or South Wales area.
* Provide musical direction at rehearsals, including conducting and coordinating all choir activities and performances.
* Serve as the first point of contact for choristers, communicating clearly, listening, and providing support.
* Promote the choir in the community by participating in events and maximizing opportunities to be heard.
* Administer schedule management, ensuring rehearsals and performances run smoothly, and support flexible availability for evenings and weekends.
* Ensure all activities meet Health and Safety, Data Protection and Safeguarding policies.
Qualifications
* Proven musical expertise and a passion for leading choirs.
* Ability to read music and adapt communication to explain technical terms to people with no music knowledge.
* Experience conducting a choir or musical group, or performing in public as a singer or musician.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in presentation.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to make people feel at ease and be a good listener.
* Energised, enthusiastic and supportive demeanour.
* Access to your own transport to travel across your responsibility area.
* Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check (Adults).
