HGV Class 2 Driver – Alfreton
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Shifts
* Sunday to Thursday: Start times between 17:00 and 18:00
* Occasional night shifts may be required
Rates of Pay
* £19.79 per hour PAYE
* £27.79 after 42 hours
* £28.59 Weekends & Bank Holidays

Day-to-Day Duties
* Complete cage deliveries to hospital trusts, GP surgeries, and care homes (including tail lift deliveries)
* Carry out up to 3 trips per day depending on volume
* Collect empty cages from every delivery point (some load shifting required en route)
* Operate temperature-controlled vehicles and follow rules on alarms and temperature ticket printing (training provided)
* Adhere to company policies, procedures, and driving regulations at all times
* Attend a company assessment and induction prior to starting
* Operate modern vehicles (predominantly 21/71 plate)
* Drive a mixture of 18t, 14t, and occasional 5t vehicles
Essential Skills
* Valid HGV Class 2 Licence with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
* Valid UK CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
* Maximum of six penalty points (no major endorsements)
* Excellent communication skills and professional attitude
* Willing to undertake a DBS check
* Reliable, flexible, and safety-conscious
Desirable Experience
* At least 2 years of Class 2 HGV driving experience
Training Provided
* Must pass a 1-hour company assessment
* 2-day paid induction
* Ongoing training and shadow shifts provided during your first week
