The role At Howden, the Central Compliance role is vital in supporting UK&I Retail, UK & Global Specialty, and UK Reinsurance. The candidate chosen will be integral in leading all aspects of interactions with the FCA and ensuring regulatory compliance. You’ll be involved in preparing regulatory submissions, overseeing data and returns, and supporting licensing and regulatory change initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone with a couple of years’ experience in financial services compliance who is ready to take on a broader, more dynamic role. What you'll be doing Preparing regulatory applications including SM&CR approvals and variations of permissions Coordinating and submitting regulatory returns, data and attestations across UK broking entities Supporting the maintenance and renewal of overseas licences Assisting with FCA information requests through collation and assessment of relevant data Reviewing and analysing regulatory data for accuracy and completeness Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate regulatory submissions Supervising regulatory developments and supporting change initiatives Employing FCA platforms like Connect and RegData for handling submissions and updates Supporting the Regulatory Interaction and Change team with ad hoc compliance projects Ensuring documentation and records are maintained in line with regulatory expectations Who we're looking for Expereince working in a compliance position within the financial services sector Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling A quick learner who thrives on new challenges Experience in analysing and interpreting data Exposure to FCA regulatory requirements and processes Comfortable leading multiple partners, ideally including senior managers A self-starter who can work independently with appropriate support Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Experience in insurance sectors such as retail, commercial or London Market (desirable) Familiarity with international licensing applications and financial reporting (desirable) Qualifications Relevant compliance or insurance qualifications (desirable but not essential) Training or experience using FCA systems such as Connect and RegData What do we offer in return?
