We offer a structured, workplace-based training programme in a hospital setting, integrated with a postgraduate pharmacy practice qualification. Due to service developments, we are recruiting post-foundation pharmacists to join our team at the PRUH site, capable of adapting to rotational clinical duties, 7-day working, on-call services, and operational tasks including patient services and aseptics.
Successful candidates will be qualified pharmacists, GPhC-registered, and able to handle the demands of our clinical rotations across various trusts in South East London, including Lewisham, Greenwich NHS Trust, and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The programme has been successfully running for over twenty years.
Responsibilities include:
* Following procedures for good dispensing practice, maintaining high standards and orderly work methods.
* Being the Responsible Pharmacist and complying with formulary and dispensary policies.
* Dispensing and checking prescriptions for outpatients and inpatients, including clinical trials and chemotherapy.
* Clinically screening prescriptions, resolving issues, and counseling patients.
* Managing workload priorities, participating in audits, and updating protocols.
* Providing comprehensive technical services, including aseptic dispensing, manufacturing, and quality assurance, in line with legislation like GMP, GCP, and Health & Safety standards.
* Participating in ward-based pharmacy services, including medication reconciliation, clinical monitoring, and documentation.
* Engaging in out-of-hours pharmacy services, including participating in on-call rotas, dispensing duties, and responding to medicines information queries.
