About the Role
Audit & Risk Recruitment are partnering with one of the UK's leading financial services organisations in their search for a Customer IT Assurance Manager! This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT Risk and assurance professional to lead a team play a key role in managing customer IT assurance, including bids, tenders, due diligence, audits, and contract reviews.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that customer expectations are met while protecting the organisation’s technology, data, and regulatory commitments. Reporting directly to the Head of External Assurance, this position offers visibility across the business and the opportunity to shape assurance processes within a complex, regulated environment.

* Salary: £65,000-£80,000 DOE and location
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee end-to-end customer IT assurance processes for both onboarding and ongoing relationships.
* Utilise your knowledge across IT Risk, IT Controls and Information security frameworks (NIST, COBIT, ISO etc) across mergers, bids, and tenders.
* Support bids and tenders by managing IT assurance responses, documentation, and customer engagements.
* Plan and execute customer IT audits, including scoping, preparation, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent responses to customer queries.
* Review and negotiate customer IT contractual clauses to align expectations with internal controls and capabilities.
* Oversee assurance reporting, quality assurance, and metrics within the Technology External Assurance function.
* Develop and maintain customer-facing materials such as whitepapers, technical documentation, and knowledge bases.
* Work with Technology, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure appropriate risk mitigation and compliance during customer engagements.
* Identify and deliver process improvements, including digitisation and automation of assurance workflows.
* Provide support for supplier assurance activities when required and deputise for the Head of External Assurance as needed.
Candidate Profile
* Senior professional experience in audit, risk, or IT assurance, ideally within a regulated financial services or FinTech environment.
* Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, or IIA are highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of information security, IT risk, and assurance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
* Proven ability to plan and manage audits, due diligence exercises, and assurance reviews.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet defined deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (including SharePoint) and ideally ServiceNow.
* Effective problem-solving and critical thinking with attention to detail and a high standard of delivery.
