Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Nurse Extern II, you will:
* Assist with direct patient care activities, ensuring excellent patient satisfaction and outcomes.
* Report patient status updates and unusual circumstances to the nurse in charge.
* Maintain equipment and pristine units, while operating medical devices.
* Learn nursing procedures and familiarize yourself with various disease processes.
* Interact with physicians and other healthcare providers in a dynamic hospital environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
* License or Certification: BLS (CPR) required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
* Minimum Qualifications:
o Active part-time or full-time student status.
o Successful entrance into the final term of a professional RN or LPN/VN program.
o Good academic standing in your nursing program.
o Evidence of completion of didactic/skills lab, including fundamentals.
o One or two instructor evaluations indicating satisfactory performance of fundamental nursing skills.
o Completion of preceptor tool and core competency at 90 days and annually.
o Proof of continued enrollment and passing grades in nursing classes each semester.
o One year of experience in an inpatient clinical setting is preferred.

Physical Requirements
We’re looking for someone who can:
* Lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing at least 30 pounds.
* Withstand prolonged standing and walking.
* Reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch as needed for patient care functions.
