Recovery Floating Housing Support Worker

Pay rate: £14.14 per hour PAYE
Role length: Anticipated 5 months
DBS requirement: Enhanced DBS
Additional requirement: Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle
The role
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a passionate Floating Recovery Support Worker to provide flexible, trauma‑informed support to individuals facing substance use, domestic abuse or homelessness. You will provide a combination of office‑based support, home visits and appointments in community locations. You must be an effective team player, experienced in multi‑agency working and committed to providing outstanding customer care while demonstrating tangible outcomes. Previous experience and knowledge of substance use services is desirable but not essential – this includes those with lived experience. The successful candidate will be provided with a comprehensive training package.
Key responsibilities
* Tailoring housing support plans to each service user’s needs identified during initial assessments
* Conducting risk assessments and putting effective risk management strategies in place
* Empowering service users to live independently by building life skills in budgeting, cooking, shopping, and home maintenance
* Supporting service users to keep their homes safe, secure, and well‑managed
* Helping service users manage their health and well‑being through access to information, advice, and referrals to relevant services
* Delivering flexible, responsive support based on individual needs — including outreach in varied settings and through multiple communication channels
* Connecting service users to specialist advice services such as CAB, welfare rights, advocacy groups, and community resources
* Supporting service users in building positive relationships and resolving disputes
* Acting as lead professional when needed and coordinating with external agencies, including during crisis situations
* Providing persistent, assertive support to help individuals stay engaged and achieve their personal goals
* Collaborating with service users to track progress and keep support records accurate and up to date
* Ensuring service users regularly receive updated copies of their support and safety plans
