We’re looking for an experienced Principal Engineer to lead the inspection, maintenance, and improvement of a major network assets. This is a leadership role focused on delivering operational excellence, safety culture transformation, and long-term asset performance.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
âś” Lead the delivery of building & civils inspection, maintenance, and renewals
âś” Develop and implement annual business plans aligned with safety, compliance, and budget targets
âś” Drive cultural transformation in safety and engineering assurance
âś” Ensure compliance with standards, CDM regulations, and the Engineering Management Plan
âś” Lead and develop a skilled, competent, and flexible engineering team
âś” Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to innovate and improve performance
âś” Create and implement weather resilience and system integration strategies
✅ What You’ll Bring:
Essential:
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering + relevant professional qualification
* Strong technical experience in infrastructure inspections and maintenance
* Proven leadership and communication skills
* Full UK Driving Licence
* High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Desirable:
* Experience with Enterprise Asset Management Systems
* Background in railway operations or safety-critical engineering roles
