The Role
As an Associate Medical Writer, you’ll work with senior team members to learn medical writing and produce high-quality scientific content for medical communications that satisfies client needs in terms of quality, commercial focus, timing and cost. You’ll contribute to account and strategic publication/communication plans by maintaining awareness of developments in therapeutic areas or disciplines. You will interact with stakeholders at various levels within Springer Health+ as part of an established team that collaborates with clients. Responsibilities
* Develop medical writing skills through comprehensive training and close collaboration with senior Scientific Services Team members to build a wide range of skills and therapeutic knowledge.
* Project delivery: Write and edit scientific content for medical communications for various audiences, meeting client needs, deadlines, budgets and internal quality standards, as directed by the senior scientific services team.
* Business planning/commercial: Contribute to account plans, strategic publication plans and communication programmes by staying up-to-date with developments in therapeutic areas or disciplines.
* Financial: Monitor adherence to budget and utilisation; record and monitor actual time spent on projects against budgeted time and complete timesheets accurately and on time.
* Organisational and team work: Support team principles and collaboration within the account team(s) and wider Springer Health+ group; attend and contribute to team and account meetings.

* Life Science degree or equivalent

* Higher degree (MSc or PhD)
Experience / Skills
Essential
* Proficient scientific writing skills with the ability to interpret complex scientific data
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proactive and flexible team player with a collaborative approach
* Highly computer literate with good working knowledge of common software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and ability to learn new software quickly
Desirable
* Any previous experience in a medical communications agency or the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry is desirable but not essential.
