We’re looking for a Structural Integrity Engineer to play a critical role in supporting nuclear safety through materials performance, inspection strategies, and component design assurance.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll contribute to the development, implementation, and governance of structural integrity requirements for nuclear-grade components—ensuring designs meet the highest safety and compliance standards.
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Developing structural integrity strategies and detailed technical guidance related to materials and non-destructive examination (NDE)
* Supporting the application and enforcement of structural integrity standards across engineering teams
* Creating outline NDE procedures for forged components in alignment with ASME, ASTM, and ISO standards
* Writing detailed material specifications and aligning supplier requirements with internal quality standards
* Assisting in the development of the Structural Integrity Safety Case for nuclear licensing, and translating high-level requirements into actionable design inputs
* Engaging with component designers, materials engineers, and quality specialists to ensure alignment across safety-critical deliverables

You're an experienced engineer with a strong background in either structural integrity, materials, or NDE, ideally gained in the nuclear or other highly regulated sector.
You are...
* Passionate about engineering
* Result-oriented
* Proactive
Qualifications
* Experience working on nuclear regulatory submissions or similar processes
* Knowledge of defect tolerance, fitness-for-service, or fracture mechanics principles
* Previous work in nuclear new build, power generation, or safety-critical engineering industries
* Proven experience in structural integrity, materials engineering, mechanical design, or NDE
* Deep understanding of ASME codes and standards (e.g., Section III, XI), plus familiarity with ASTM and ISO standards
* Experience contributing to or developing safety case documentation in regulated environments
* Strong technical documentation and specification writing skills
* Ability to engage with cross-functional teams, challenge technical inputs, and ensure traceability in design
* A degree (BEng/MEng or BSc/MSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
