Hays has proudly partnered with a nursery in Wimbledon to recruit for a Nursery Room Leader to join their team. The nursery focuses on providing the best start in life for their pupils and has created an ethos that focuses on quality education as well as developing the child as a whole. The nursery received a rating of “good” in their most recent Ofsted inspection, with inspectors stating that “children develop positive attitudes to learning and the skilled staff have high expectations of them.”
About your role as a Nursery Room Leader
This room leader role will be based in the 1- 2-year-olds' room. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Responsible for the daily running of a section of the Nursery, including the care and wellbeing of the children and the delivery of an effective curriculum
2. Supervising and supporting the daily setting up of the rooms and outside, to provide safety and an effective learning environment for all the children.
3. To work with the Manager(s) to ensure that staff ratios are maintained and there is effective staff deployment, supervision, mentoring and recognition of training needs for all staff and apprentices.
4. Provide high-quality care and education
5. Plan and implement EYFS-appropriate activities, ensuring they are stimulating and engaging
6. Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
7. Observe and assess children's development, identifying any areas of concern
8. Collaborate with parents and other staff members to support children's individual needs
9. Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development
10. Ensure the nursery is clean, organised, and well-maintained at all times
11. Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of all children.
What you will need to succeed
12. Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification
13. Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting
14. Knowledge of child development theories and practices
15. Strongmunication skills, both verbal and written
16. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
17. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children
18. Ability to speak Mandarin is desirable but not essential.
19. Hold the right to work in the UK
