Legal Services Manager

The Legal Services Manager role is a unique opportunity to work within the Quality Team at Harrogate District and Foundation Trust, leading up Legal Services. The post would be part of a busy but dynamic team that encompasses all elements of quality.
Main duties of the job
* Act as the main liaison between the HM coroner's offices and the Trust to coordinate the gathering/reviewing of statements, medical records and any other relevant evidence for the purpose of inquest hearings within tight timescales
* Represent the Trust at inquest hearings and be the Trust representative at mediation, RTM's, conferences with counsel, case management meetings and Trials.
* To lead and manage a mixed caseload of claims, inquests and legal advice for the Trust
* Provide a high quality, prompt legal advice service, with the support of the Head of Quality and Legal. Giving ad-hoc legal advice to members of staff on a wide variety of topics, linking in with Trust panel solicitors for specialised advice as required.
* This is a role where a great deal of autonomous working is required with minimal supervision. There will also be a requirement to work as part of the wider Quality team, to ensure the objectives of the Quality team are achieved.
* The post-holder will have an understanding of the service requirements and be able to work to tight timescales within an environment of conflicting workload demands.
* Collate data and information relating to claims and inquests to provide reports to relevant meetings

Qualifications
* oEducated to degree level in law or equivalent
Experience
* oExperience working within litigation/inquests in the NHS
* oExperience in the preparation of reports, managing and analysing complex data
* oExperience of policy development and implementation
* oExperience working within an NHS legal service
* oExperience of leading a team
