This role is directly responsible for the day-to-day management of new construction projects, primarily the development of greenfield sites, ensuring projects are delivered to timescale, within budget and meet corporate design and identity requirements. Secondly in the refurbishments of the existing estate including extension, enlargement and small works projects following the same mantra.**About you:**We are looking for an experienced project manager from within the construction environment, with an excellent knowledge of building regulations.* Excellent knowledge in MS Office essential, with familiarity using Site Audit Pro & Safety Culture advantageous.* Familiarity with tendering, procurement and supplier management, particularly in the construction industry.* Familiarity and experience with the customer journey within a retail environment.* Strong negotiation and networking skills.* Solid judgement along with strong decision-making skills.* The ability to manage budgets on construction projects.* Ability to work independently.* Ability to work to tight deadlines and changes to project brief.* Excellent communication and organisational skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.* NEBOSH and/or SMSTS certificate advantageous.**Benefits:*** 33 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)* Contributory Pension Scheme* Health care plan and Life Assurance* Discounts with high street retailers and restaurants through our benefits portal* Employee assistance programme* Car Allowance**Duties include but not limited to:*** Project-manage and to coordinate the work of all contractors.* Prepare PCI and all health and safety information before work commences on site.* Evaluate the locations of each new site and document any findings that may present challenges.* Consult and collaborate with key stakeholders, present ideas, objectives, requirements and agree budget of the project.* Ensure compliance with corporate identity, design, and building regulations.* To be able to read and interpret technical and detailed working drawings.* Suggest new products and ways of working that could increase efficiency on site and reduce costs.* To perform site visits to check on progress ensuring that the project is running on time and to budget.* Resolve problems and issues that arise during construction.* Ensure that any environmental impact of the project is managed.* Inspect, snag and sign off building work in collaboration with contractors and key stakeholders within the business.* Ensure tight control on financial budgets and deadlines, providing regular updates to the Head of Construction & Facilities on project progress.* To promote the company in a professional and positive manner with both internal and external contacts or at any other opportunity.* To ensure a good working environment is maintained in order to harbour good working relationships.* To adhere to all company health and safety practices and procedures and should any issue arise that the correct procedure is followed.* To attend and conduct meetings as and when required.* A full job description can be supplied on request.MERKUR Slots does not, under any circumstances, make hiring or employment decisions on the basis of any prohibited ground; including but not limited to age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or any other basis protected by law or prohibited by Company policy.
