Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and practical Multi-Skilled Property Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing maintenance and refurbishment of our residential rental portfolio.
The role involves carrying out a wide range of reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and refurbishment works across occupied rental properties and vacant properties between tenancies. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and can manage their own workload across multiple properties.
You will be a key part of ensuring our properties are safe, well-maintained, and presented to a high standard for tenants.
Key Responsibilities
* Attending residential properties to carry out day-to-day maintenance and reactive repairs
* Diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues efficiently and safely
* Carrying out internal maintenance works including:
* Minor plumbing repairs such as leaks, taps, toilets and pipework
* Repairs to doors, handles, locks, hinges and fittings
* Painting and decorating, including full room repaints and touch-ups
* Basic joinery and general building repairs
* Completing between-tenancy works, including:
* Property clear-outs and rip-outs
* Preparing properties for refurbishment
* Assisting with light refurbishments
* Undertaking external maintenance, including:
* Gutter cleaning and minor gutter repairs
* Fence repairs and replacements
* Basic garden maintenance and external tidy-ups
* Liaising with the office team regarding job updates and reporting issues that require specialist contractors
* Maintaining a professional, tidy and safe working environment at all times
* Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes
Required Experience & Skills
* Proven experience in property maintenance, handyman work, or a relevant trade
* Ability to carry out a wide variety of maintenance tasks independently
* Strong problem-solving skills with a practical approach to repairs
* Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple jobs
* Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Full UK driving licence
* Good communication skills when dealing with tenants and colleagues
Desirable Experience
* Background in joinery, plumbing, building maintenance, or refurbishment
* Previous experience working within residential rental properties or housing
* Familiarity with health and safety practices in a maintenance environment
* Ability to identify larger issues and recommend appropriate remedial action
