Cleaner / Scout
Location: Oxford
Salary: £13,350 per annum
Vacancy Type: Permanent, 20 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid break on each working day. (Candidates should specify their preferred working days/times)
The Centre is incorporated by Royal Charter and is registered as a charity. The Centre was founded in 1985 with the aim of encouraging a better understanding of Islam and contemporary Muslim societies through learning and scholarship. To this end, the Centre supports teaching and research, hosts lectures and seminars, and maintains a well-equipped library.
The Role
To keep the Centre clean, tidy and in good repair, to report any faults or problems.
Main Duties:
1. Ensure that Centre spaces, including meeting rooms, conference halls, auditorium and the mosque, are set up for events according to requirements.
2. Move and arrange Centre furniture, including tables, sofas and chairs, throughout the Centre according to floor plans and requirements.
3. Refresh and set up vacant residences by flushing toilets, running taps, cleaning as required, and preparing the room with fresh linen, towels, guest amenities and supplies.
4. Carry out minor maintenance tasks such as unblocking sinks, showers and toilets, changing light bulbs, rehanging curtains and repairing furniture where appropriate.<...
