We are looking for a motivated and driven pharmacist, who is passionate about working with innovative clinical trials medicines which will be part of cancer medicines of tomorrow. You will become our Advanced Pharmacist - Clinical Trials, you will have an independent work load but will have full support from ourPrincipal Pharmacist for Clinical Trials who will be able to support you to help our patients gain access to clinical trials.
There are opportunities to specialise clinically in a tumour specific area in solid tumour services.
The Pharmacy clinical trials team is a dedicated to implementing and ensuring our clinical trials are available.

You will support the Trustwide implementation of clinical trials, liaising closely with aseptic services, MDT colleagues from clinical services, procurement and our wholly owned subsidiary, PharmaC.
You will be working within the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, providing excellent cancer care to patients across the North West (including North Wales and the Isle of Man). We have 3 site locations; the central Liverpool site and hub sites in the Wirral and Aintree. It is an exciting time for pharmacy as we have moved into our purpose built hospital, with state of the art aseptic facilities.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will work alongside a clinical trials and R&D team, working in bringing new innovative treatments into practice, reviewing ongoing amendments to trials and working closely with the research practitioners.
* Provide clinical, professional and technical expertise to support the delivery, development and monitoring of high quality patient focused pharmacy services to oncology patients at the Clatterbridge-Liverpool site.
* Provide highly specialised clinical pharmacy services to cancer services.
* Support the implementation of clinical trials chemotherapy electronic prescribing to the oncology service
* Provides medicines optimisation services including dispensary duties, ward cover and aseptic release cover when required
Working pattern will be 37.5 hours per week. Late duty, weekends, bank holidays and on-call will be part of the post.
Prior experience in oncology or haematology is not required as a full clinical grounding will be provided if required.
This post is likely to be split into half time supporting and delivering the clinical trials portfolio, and half time supporting clinical services across Clatterbridge, so is ideal for a candidate who wishes to maintain regular clinical contact alongside a trials portfolio
