SEND Teaching Assistant – Birmingham Role Details Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Birmingham (B5, B12, B25 & surrounding areas) Pay: £85–£95 per day (PAYE) Type: Full-Time / Long-Term Start Date: Immediate The School and Role ABC Teachers are recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEND and SEMH schools in Birmingham. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex needs. Support may be on a 1:1 or small-group basis, helping pupils access learning, regulate emotions, and develop independence. This role is ideal for candidates with experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEND TA, Support Worker, Care Assistant, Youth Worker or Behaviour Mentor, or those looking to build a long-term career in specialist education. Key Responsibilities Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 or small-group basis Assist with learning, behaviour and emotional regulation Support communication using visual and alternative methods Assist with personal care where required Work closely with teachers and specialist staff Requirements Experience supporting children or adults with SEND (school or care setting) DBS on the update service or willingness to apply A calm, patient and proactive approach Confidence supporting behaviour and additional needs As a SEND Teaching Assistant with ABC Teachers, You Will Receive: Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.
