A Career Without Limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit!

The role:

Heathrow Policy Manager

Are you passionate about people and driven to deliver against consistent, robust and effective people policies for Heathrow?

Acting as a key partner, you’ll maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and Trade Union representatives, coach and mentor a team of Standards and Policy Partners, and collaborate on the creation and maintenance of policy‑related systems and trackers in line with GDPR requirements. The role also deputises for the Senior People Support Manager, contributes to strategic policy projects, supports recruitment activity, provides operational support during disruption, and serves as an escalation point for TU and HLT, demonstrating inspiring leadership to drive business priorities.

What you’ll do:

You’ll have excellent attention to detail with the ability to use your best judgement in formal stage processes up to final appeal, you’ll also empower a team of Standards and Policy Partners to be the best they can be offering mentoring, development, and sharing best practices where relevant.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

You’ll be an ambassador for the British Airways brand, behaviours, and values, upholding these to the highest standards. Your leadership and strong collaboration skills will champion key relationships internal and external to the Heathrow directorate. You’ll be able to build key relations with key collaborators quickly.

Your experience:

1. Experience of management of complex conduct cases up to and including final appeals.
2. Experience of absence management, in particular, long-term sickness.
3. Experience of supporting and guiding managers through polices and processes.
4. Experienced with Industrial Relations, and Trade Unions.
5. Experience of working in a pressurised environment where good time management and organisation is essential to achieving deadlines.
6. Digital mindset
7. Passionate about people.
8. Excellent knowledge of BA policies, both Employment Guide and Our Colleague Guide

What we offer:

We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play. It’s one of the reasons our rewards go far beyond a competitive salary.

From the day you join us, you’ll get access to brilliant staff travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on British Airways flights. You’ll also receive up to 30 discounted ‘Hotline’ airfares per year for yourself, friends, and family.

At British Airways you’ll have the chance to take on new challenges and move forward in a way that feels right for you. We encourage all those who work for us to consider opportunities right across our business to help you develop and progress.

We never stand still, and we don’t expect our people to either!
