Site Electrical Commissioning Engineer

We’re supporting a major UK power and energy build and are seeking an experienced Site Electrical Commissioning Engineer to lead electrical commissioning activities through a critical delivery phase.
This is a site‑based, hands‑on role suited to engineers who enjoy ownership, coordination and technical problem‑solving in live commissioning environments.
Key Details
* Contract: 31 Oct 2026 with possible extension
* Start: ASAP
* Rotation: 10 hours per day | 10 on / 4 off or 5/2 (Mon - Fri)
* Location: Northwest UK
* Eligibility: Full UK working rights required
The Role
You’ll take responsibility for the planning and execution of electrical commissioning activities, including:
* Developing and executing commissioning plans, procedures and schedules
* Leading inspections, testing and functional performance verification of electrical systems
* Reviewing drawings and technical documentation for compliance with codes and standards
* Coordinating commissioning activities with project, construction and OEM teams
* Managing issue resolution, punch lists and system close‑out
* Producing clear commissioning records, test reports and handover documentation
* Coordinating with permit, LOTO and site safety administrators
* Maintaining strict adherence to EHS and permit‑to‑work requirements
You’ll act as a key technical interface on site, supporting installation teams through to successful system handover.
About You
* Proven experience in electrical commissioning within power generation or heavy process environments
* Strong knowledge of powertrain and balance‑of‑plant systems
* Degree‑qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); PE / chartered status advantageous
* Confident working with OEMs, contractors and client teams
* Strong problem‑solving and documentation skills
* Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, site‑driven environments
* Full UK working rights
