Operations Manager

Do you have strong leadership experience in a production or workshop environment? Are you driven with the acumen to advance our business? If so, come and join our team as our Operations Manager, based in Lowestoft, Suffolk on a full-time permanent basis.

* Competitive Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the role:

As the Operations Manager, you will support the Managing Director in leading our team to ensure all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. You will play a key role in fostering continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction. You will work 5 days a week from 7:30am to 5pm.

Main duties and responsibilities:

* Plan, schedule, and oversee manufacturing and repair workflows, ensuring timely delivery of products meeting customer specifications.
* Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing compliance with health and safety legislation and conducting routine inspections.
* Supervise and develop a team of workshop technicians, managing staff deployment, workshop space, equipment, and materials to optimise operations and reduce waste.
* Ensure high standards of service across all business areas, taking ownership of production, repair, and warehouse processes, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
* Monitor departmental spending and implement initiatives to enhance cost control without compromising quality.
* Provide hands-on support and technical guidance to resolve workshop issues, staying updated on industry trends.

About you:

You will have a strong background in operational leadership within a production or workshop environment. As the Operations Manager, you should demonstrate adaptability and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. Essential skills include strong leadership and team development, a solid understanding of engineering processes, project management, and Lean management. A proactive problem-solving approach, excellent organisational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiarity with Health and Safety regulations, and experience with ERP systems are also essential. Ideally, you will hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or an equivalent qualification.
