Community Registered Nurse - Treatment Room

A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Nurse – (part one of professional register) to work within the District Nursing teams providing Treatment Room cover based within Falkirk Health and Social care Partnership.

This nursing post will require flexibility in shift patterns over 5 days. The post holder will provide person-centred care to patients who are able to attend the treatment room, in their homes or other homely settings, promoting independence, enhancing quality of life, as well as preventing/reducing hospital admissions. It is desirable that you have clinical skills in wound management, catheter care and palliative care including end of life care. The aim of the post is to focus on prevention, anticipation and supported self management to enable everyone to live longer, healthier lives within their own homes. Training will also be provided during induction to the successful applicants.

It is essential that you are a good communicator and show that you work well within a team and also are able to function autonomously using your skills and initiative. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

Responsibilities

* Provide person-centred treatment room care in community settings, promoting independence and preventing hospital admissions.
* Support patients at home or in other homely settings, focusing on prevention, anticipation and self-management.
* Work within District Nursing teams, with flexibility in shift patterns over five days.
* Communicate effectively within a team and autonomously as required.
* Travelling across the area of service delivery to provide care.


Qualifications and Skills

* Experience in treatment room nursing or nursing in a community setting.
* Clinical skills in wound management, catheter care and palliative care including end of life care (desirable).
* Good communication skills and ability to work within a team and independently.
* Eligibility to work as a Registered Nurse on the professional register.
* Membership of PVG Scheme or willingness to apply for PVG clearance.
