1. leading inpatient rounds on the cardiology ward on designated days, seeing patients and leading the multi-disciplinary board round
2. contributing to the in-reach service to the acute admissions unit and other wards, including seeing patients and discussing cases with trainee doctors
3. overseeing the care of patients in outpatient clinics and in the community, including seeing patients, arranging relevant investigations and instigating appropriate treatments
4. providing direct clinical supervision to trainee doctors and nurse specialists
5. providing advice and support for local general practitioners
6. working collaboratively with other consultants and members of the department, including providing reasonable cover for annual and study leave of colleague consultant cardiologists.
Sub-specialty responsibilities will include:
7. Managing patients in the cardiac catheterisation laboratory for complex device implantation
8. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan supervision and reporting
9. Supervision of MRI for cardiac device patients.
10. Contributing to a team developing a radiotherapy VT ablation service
There is no on-call commitment.

11. Medical Degree
12. Full GMC registration
13. Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent

14. Research qualification (PhD)
Professional training and experience

15. Education, training and experience in all aspects of core cardiovascular medicine, including acute cardiac care
16. Evidence of subspecialty accreditation and experience in complex devices implantation/management
17. Evidence of subspecialty accreditation in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging
18. Previous experience working in the NHS
Desirable
19. Experience supporting MRI services for cardiac device patients
20. Experience in cardiac radioablation
