About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Forensic Collision Investigator to join our team at TRL. This role involves in-depth investigations into road collisions, including those resulting in fatalities and serious injuries. The nature of this work requires resilience, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of the UK legal system.
The successful candidate can be based UK wide with some travel expected. Flexible working options for full or part-time employment is available. Due to the long-term nature of Expert Witness responsibilities, applicants must have long-term residency in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
1. Investigate road collisions and vehicle-related incidents.
2. Prepare and deliver high-quality forensic reports for public and private sector clients.
3. Present evidence in Civil and Criminal Courts.
4. Maintain strong client relationships and provide expert advice.
Essential Skills & Experience
5. Extensive experience in forensic collision investigation and injury causation analysis including video analysis.
6. Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, biomechanics, and forensic video analysis.
7. Experience in producing and reviewing technical reports with exceptional attention to detail.
8. Strong communication skills, with experience presenting evidence in Court.
9. Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
10. Relevant qualifications such as a degree in physics, engineering or biomechanics.
11. Experience retrieving and analysing vehicle electronic data (EDRs, telematics).
12. Knowledge of inspecting electric vehicles and related safety protocols.
13. An interest in injury causation.
