Driving a Class 2 vehicle in a safe manner, delivering caged and wheeled dollies into stores NDC's, ensuring that goods are delivered on time, offloaded in the correct manner, paperwork is signed, and any agreed waste or cages are collected to be returned.
Salary £38,651.89 plus £3900 night allowance per annum
It is a 45-hour week contract, working Monday to Friday night; starting between 00:00 – 05:00
How will you contribute?
1. Responsible for the accurate, timely movement and delivery of our customers’ products.
2. Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
3. Securing load of the trailer to ensure products are safely secured to minimise chances of damage.
4. Provide excellent customer service at all times and to take ownership of customer issues on delivery.
5. Carry out multi-drop deliveries within the delivery window in a safe manner.
6. Be aware of the vehicle defects and bring to the attention of Transport Office as necessary.
7. Attend essential training in order to carry out the Driver role.
What will you bring?
8. Must hold a valid HGV LGV Class 1 or 2 licence
9. Must hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC Card)
10. Must hold a Digital Tachograph card
11. Must not have more than 6 points on your licence
12. Previous retail and commercial driving experience is desirable
13. You must be confident, engaging, polite and friendly
14. You must be understanding, calm, professional and a team player
15. Be flexible in relation to shifts and duties
16. Be able to provide a time critical delivery service in line with targets agreed with customer and Wincanton
