As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with pupils who need additional guidance, helping them feel safe, regulated and confident in the classroom. We’re looking for dedicated, reliable Behaviour Support Assistants to join our team in East Grinstead and the surrounding areas. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs Providing one‑to‑one or small‑group support to help pupils stay focused and engaged Using de‑escalation and positive behaviour strategies to promote a calm learning environment Assisting teachers with classroom routines and personalised support plans Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive coping strategies Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to support pupil wellbeing and progress What We’re Looking For Experience working with children or young people (behaviour or SEN experience is a bonus) A calm, patient and adaptable approach Confidence supporting pupils who may be dysregulated, anxious or struggling emotionally Strong communication and teamwork skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Why Join Supply Desk?
