Retail Store Assistant
£12.21 per hour plus benefits

Location: Ormskirk Shop
Contract: Permanent
Working hours: Part-time 8 hours per week (full day or 2 x 4-hour shifts)

We’re seeking a motivated store assistant to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team. You’ll act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, creating a welcoming environment where the community can connect with our cause and learn about our work.
You’ll be surrounded by people equally dedicated to beating cancer.
What will I be doing?
1. Providing excellent customer and supporter service.
2. Working as part of the shop team to meet sales and fundraising targets.
3. Maintaining shop standards, including visual presentation, safeguarding, and health and safety compliance.
4. Building relationships with the local community and colleagues.
5. Supporting fundraising events to achieve targets.
6. Taking keyholder responsibilities as needed (training provided).
7. Performing manual handling and physical activities as part of daily duties.
What are you looking for?
1. An understanding of what makes great customer service.
2. Experience working in a busy customer service environment.
3. Ability to manage your workload and work independently.
4. Ability to work well in a team.
5. Excellent communication skills.
6. Flexibility to work on a rota basis, with an understanding of work-life balance.
