Graduate Planner – Thames Valley Thames Valley Graduate Opportunity | Planning & Development Consultancy An award-winning, independent planning and development consultancy is looking to recruit a Graduate Planner to join its Thames Valley team in 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated graduate to begin their career in a highly respected consultancy that works on some of the UK’s most significant and high-profile development projects. The successful candidate will gain early responsibility, exposure to major clients, and the opportunity to develop their professional skills within a collaborative and supportive environment. The Opportunity As a Graduate Planner, you will be part of a dynamic team advising clients across a diverse portfolio of development projects, including residential, commercial, mixed-use and strategic land developments. From the outset, you will play an active role in supporting planning strategies and delivering high-quality consultancy advice. Key responsibilities may include: Undertaking planning policy and site research Assisting with planning appraisals and development strategies Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals Contributing to planning statements, reports and supporting documents Engaging with clients, local authorities and consultant teams Assisting senior colleagues in the delivery of major development projects This role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience across the full planning process, helping shape development proposals from early concept through to planning consent. Training & Development You will join a structured graduate training programme designed to develop both your technical knowledge and professional skills. The consultancy is committed to supporting graduates through the process of becoming a Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Ideal candidates will have: A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) A Master’s degree in an RTPI or RICS accredited subject (completed or expected) Strong research, analytical and report-writing skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities A proactive, motivated approach and a passion for shaping the built environment Applications are welcome from final-year students or graduates with up to one year of relevant experience.
