Scope
Akkodis has an opportunity within the Aerospace and Defence business unit for a role focused on Configuration Management (CM) in supporting complex engineering projects. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective implementation and governance of CM practices throughout the product lifecycle.
The responsibilities include specifying and overseeing CM requirements for suppliers, adapting CM systems to project needs, and ensuring consistency in configuration data. The role also supports key project milestones such as configuration audits, change control boards, and end-of-phase reviews.
Role
The engineer will support CM activities, define CM requirements for suppliers, share best practices across the product development lifecycle, and contribute to configuration item selection and breakdown structures.
Responsibilities
* Support CM activities with engineering, business, and operations teams.
* Implement CM plans to ensure consistency and completeness of information.
* Specify CM requirements to suppliers and subcontractors via statements of work.
* Share best practices and approaches across all phases of product development.
* Participate in and manage change control boards.
* Support configuration audits and reviews.
Required Experience
* Experience across all phases of product development and configuration baselines from concept to sustainment.
* Deep knowledge of system integration, CM practices, and tools in systems, hardware, and software.
* Familiarity with configuration baselines used to control system evolution.
* Experience with PALMA or Windchill PLM.
Required Skills
* Ability to work independently, prioritize, and multitask.
* Process-driven, analytical, detail-oriented, with a focus on data integrity.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with cross-functional teams.
