A friendly, inclusive, and well-organised mainstream primary school in Harrow is looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant. The school has a strong focus on inclusion, pupil wellbeing, and staff development, and offers a supportive leadership team with clear progression opportunities.
About the Role
You will be working in a mainstream primary setting, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs either 1:1 or in small groups. The school is looking for someone who is approachable, patient, adaptable, and able to make learning engaging, structured, and accessible.
This is a long-term opportunity with scope for progression and additional responsibility for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
• Support pupils with SEN including ASD, learning difficulties, and behavioural needs
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support in and out of the classroom
• Assist with differentiated learning activities
• Support emotional regulation, communication, and independence
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
• Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant
• Experience supporting children with ASD and additional needs
• Patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
