Teaching Personnel – Construction Teacher
Location: Leigh (WN7)
Provision: Secondary SEMH (Ages 13-21)
Role Overview:
Deliver construction and vocational skills to students aged 13-21 within a specialist SEMH setting
Plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons tailored to support SEMH learners’ social, emotional, and academic needs
Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning styles and behaviour challenges
Support students’ development of life skills and preparation for adulthood through construction-based activities
Collaborate with SENCOs, teaching staff, and support teams to ensure consistent pupil-centred support
Maintain health and safety standards and a positive learning environment
Candidate Requirements:
Qualified teacher status or relevant vocational teaching qualification in Construction, Carpentry, or related discipline
Experience working within SEMH or similar special educational needs settings preferred
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Ability to deliver hands-on, practical construction lessons
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to fostering student wellbeing and personal growth

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
