Opportunity Introduction
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Social Media Content & Community Manager to help us build, manage, and scale a thriving community for fitness business owners.
This role sits at the heart of our marketing and customer ecosystem, bringing together content, conversation, and community to support gym owners in growing their businesses.
You’ll play a key role in shaping how we engage with fitness business owners across social platforms, communities, and content channels - helping to position us as a trusted partner in their growth.
You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from day one, with support from a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
Role Description
As part of expanding our marketing and community ecosystem, your focus will be on building and managing a highly engaged audience of fitness business owners.
Beyond Ashbourne’s core marketing, we’re in the process of establishing an independent community called ‘The Gym Owners Forum’ as a method of engaging with the wider fitness business owner community, who aren’t necessarily interested in Ashbourne’s services at present.
The aim of this is a long term, cold marketing strategy, where we are able to build a cold leads list beyond the audiences that we presently market to through Ashbourne. While you will be part of the wider Ashbourne team, your responsibilities will be primarily focused on The Gym Owners Forum aspect of the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
Community Building & Management
* Help grow an engaged community for fitness business owners (e.g. Facebook groups, forums, or similar platforms)
* Moderate discussions, ensuring a positive, valuable, and supportive environment
* Drive engagement through prompts, conversations, and community-led content
* Identify key themes, challenges, and opportunities from within the community
Content Creation & Strategy
* Plan, create, and manage content specifically tailored to fitness business owners
* Produce a mix of content including:
* Educational posts (retention, sales, operations)
* Industry insights and trends
* Case studies and real-world success stories
* Event promotion and follow-up content
* Email newsletters and promotions
* Collaborate with internal teams to turn insights into valuable content
* Reporting on social channels and using data to inform your social media strategy
Social Media Management
* Manage and grow our social media presence across key platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp etc.)
* Schedule and publish content consistently
* Monitor performance and optimise content based on engagement and reach
* Respond to comments and messages to maintain active engagement
Brand Voice & Positioning
* Help shape and maintain a consistent, authentic voice when communicating with fitness business owners
* Ensure all content reflects our values: supportive, knowledgeable, and practical
Personal Skills and Experience
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and foster community
* Experience managing social media accounts or online communities
* Confident content creator with an eye for engaging, relevant messaging
* Comfortable working across multiple platforms and content formats
* Confident with filming and editing content to a high standard
* Organised and able to manage multiple content streams and priorities
* Experience working with automation platforms (Zapier) to connect different platforms together over APIs
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience within the fitness industry or working with gyms
* Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe suite)
* Understanding of social media analytics and performance tracking
* Experience running or moderating online communities
* Understanding of CRMs and email marketing
