Overview
As part of our growth, we are seeking full-time Teaching Assistants/Classroom Assistants to join New Barn School. We are offering a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours) while receiving full-time pay. This is a permanent, term-time-only role.
Salary: £22,300.00 per annum (not pro rata). Location: New Barn School, The Long Barn, Welford, RG20 8HZ. Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am–4:30pm (includes a 5pm finish).
We welcome applications from teaching assistants already within special education as well as mainstream colleagues with a passion for complex SEND.
Responsibilities
* Directly support brilliant pupils and young people to maximise their education and potential.
* Prepare learning materials and run classroom activities with hands-on involvement and supervision as needed.
* Support pupils’ emotional and physical needs, helping them develop as individuals and engage with the world.
* Assist with pupils who have complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
* Experience of working in the independent SEMH sector and with pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
* Willingness to adopt a therapeutic approach to teaching and working with SEN/SEMH pupils.
* Previous experience with ASC is highly desirable.
