Michael Page has been engaged to source a Sustainability and Energy Optimisation Specialist for a global FMCG manufacturing business. This client has multiple sites across the UK and Europe and supplies its products globally.
Job Description
The Sustainability & Energy Optimisation Lead will play a pivotal role in driving energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Based in Leeds, this position requires a forward-thinking individual to develop and implement strategies for optimizing energy use while contributing to a more sustainable future. This is a key role for the business with the opportunity to make a significant impact on site. Reporting into the Head of Engineering with support from the group Sustainability function, responsibilities will include:
* Development and implementation of a 5-year Sustainability and Energy Consumption Roadmap
* Collaborating with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure alignment on site targets and vision
* Data collection, reporting, and building business cases in line with the Roadmap and site targets
* Challenging and influencing behaviors
* Staying updated on legislation and government-led initiatives
* Sharing best practices with other S&EO specialists and engaging with industry leaders, community, and other sites to bring innovation and technology
* Managing weekly and monthly reviews with stakeholders on waste, energy, site consumption, and project updates
* Driving the site's 2030 and 2050 carbon reduction and net zero targets
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience leading sustainability and energy initiatives in manufacturing or industrial settings
* Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability standards
* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
* Clear vision and strategic thinking
* Experience in reducing energy consumption in manufacturing environments
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Analytical skills and a strategic mindset
