Job Description This role would be one of two HRBPs supporting the Group functions (including BIS), reporting into the HR VP Group HR and People Partners. The position would play a key role in driving sustainable efficiency and practices across all Group functions and continuously seeking improvement opportunities through simplification, avoidance of duplication and automation where possible. There is a significant opportunity afforded by the transformation to take a deep dive into how HR supports the business and put in place some real long term, value adding interventions. The HR Business Partner will be based at our Birmingham office, with monthly visits to our Hemel Hempstead office and 1 day per week working from home. This is Fixed Term Contract (18 months) role Accountabilities: In support of a safe workplace culture and compliance with Smiths EHS, Ethics & Compliance and Values, the individual in this role would: Work closely with operational and functional leaders to ensure their organizations leverage the resources of the HR function in order to fulfil their respective business strategies. Provide HR functional expertise and act as a key driver and facilitator of change management to support the execution of HR functional initiatives, business area organizational changes, expansions, relocations, and M&A activities. Develop and drive the Strategic Workforce Plan for the respective business functions and support the execution of the Division/Group HR People Plan in close In collaboration with the business area leadership team, and by staying true to the guiding principles and values of the company. Work closely with business area operational and functional leaders to review and recommend methodologies to improve organizational capability, using successful strategies to identify talent (internal or external) or to develop existing high potential talent. In conjunction with Global HR leadership, be responsible for supporting business area operational and functional leaders with talent development in their organizations, including assessment, selection, onboarding, coaching and mentoring. Support colleague and manager engagement and the delivery of strategic Group HR initiatives, as well as key annual People processes (i.e. succession planning, talent review, health and wellness benefits, performance management, annual incentive payments, merit, etc.). Provide HR function guidance to business area operational and functional leaders to help them improve employee engagement, address sensitive employment issues, and to raise the level of workforce efficiency and performance, including responsibility for developing the capability of Group colleagues to effectively manage people matters Proactively collaborate with the HR Rewards team in order to maintain awareness of current market conditions, and to ensure compensation and benefits levels are appropriate, competitive, and aligned to support the Division strategy. Responsible for measuring and analying results, anticipating trends, forecasting, and developing proactive action plans that would minimize operational risks and/or disruptions. Ensure legal compliance (supported by the HR Shared Services organization and Legal function) as it relates to employment law in all the countries where the business operates.
