Do you have great communication skills, enjoy helping young people and supporting a community?
We are looking for a Student Support Officer to be a welcoming face for learners on their arrival at College, encouraging lanyard usage and helping learners to their classrooms.
Throughout the day you will be visible and accessible to learners for any first line queries, directing them to appropriate support or other departments as needed, you will undertake first aid calls (full training given) and encourage positive behaviours around and about the campus where needed. This role would also include assisting the Safeguarding Team with learner safeguarding concerns.

* Residential Care settings for young people
* Other Care/Fostering roles
* Youth work
* Youth hostel work
* Work in an education setting
* Charity work
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain high visibility across the campus, communicating effectively with learners and promoting positive behaviours;
* Be a member of the Be‑Safe team supporting learners under the supervision of the Designated and Deputy Designation Safeguarding Leads;
* Be present at the campus barriers in the morning to support learner arrival; and
* Act as first aider as required.
Key Person Specification Requirements
* Level 3 qualification or above, in a relevant discipline;
* GCSE Grade C (4/5) in Maths and English (or equivalent);
* Ability to develop good working relations and rapport with young people (16‑18 years) and adult learners;
* Experience of working with groups and/or individuals in a supportive environment;
* Current, valid driving licence; and
* Enhanced DBS check.
