Our Office of the General Counsel advises on a wide variety of risk issues that arise in delivering professional services across assurance, tax, and advisory areas.
We support flexible working, including reduced hours and job shares, to help balance work and life.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced commercial contracts lawyer for our in-house legal team. Your responsibilities will include:
* Negotiating contracts with clients, including MSAs and public-sector frameworks, and advising on contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
* Improving standard terms of business based on negotiation experiences and issues encountered.
* Handling various commercial contracting issues, such as local adoption contracts, agreements with international member-firms, data-sharing, secondments, software supply contracts, and interpreting contractual provisions for colleagues.
* Providing legal input on other contracting situations, including termination provisions, NDAs, tender documents, and disclosure agreements.
* Advising on risk management, compliance, collaboration, and referral agreements.
* Collaborating with the Office of the General Counsel and risk-management teams to advise and support staff and stakeholders.
* Mentoring less experienced lawyers and identifying learning opportunities.
* Identifying risk trends and recommending modifications to templates and procedures.
* Educating colleagues on legal and risk issues through training and guidance materials.
Candidate Profile
The minimum requirements are:
* Qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
* Good knowledge of professional liability law.
* Understanding of professional services contracting and risk management.
* Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
* Self-motivated with strong communication skills, including drafting.
* Experience managing and developing colleagues.
