We work closely with a special school in the Newbury area that is looking for a chef to join their kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing quality food and providing catering services to the school.
The role includes:
1. Planning menus according to the dietary needs of students
2. Monitoring stock levels through date rotation, portion control, and quality checks within budget constraints
3. Setting up and cleaning the kitchen before and after daily use
4. Preparing for the daily and weekly demands of the school
5. Minimizing waste wherever possible
This role is suitable for those seeking slightly reduced hours. Experience is not strictly necessary, but confidence in the kitchen and a similar role experience are preferable. Possessing a Food & Hygiene qualification is essential.
