We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handy person / maintenance person to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring that properties are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing. This role requires a strong understanding of both hand tools and power tools, as well as experience in landscape maintenance and groundskeeping. If you have a passion for working outdoors and possess the necessary skills, we would love to hear from you. Must be able to drive and have own vehicle due to rural location.
Responsibilities for Handy person / maintenance person:
• Conduct general repairs and maintenance tasks around properties, including plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry.
• Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to complete various tasks.
• Perform landscape maintenance duties such as mowing, trimming, and irrigation.
• Assist with garden upkeep, ensuring plants are healthy and thriving.
• Mucking out animals - primarily dogs and horses. Must like animals, although you won't be handling them.
• Carry out groundskeeping activities to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of outdoor areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from clients or property managers.
• Maintain an organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
• Trustworthy and discreet.
Experience for Handy person / maintenance person
• Proven experience in a similar role or relevant field is preferred.
• Familiarity with operating both hand tools and power tools safely.
• Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, including irrigation techniques.
• Experience in gardening or groundskeeping is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Must be able to drive and have own vehicle due to rural location.
