The Opportunity: Working closely with Product Managers to understand the challenge the user is facing and the qualities of a good solution. Conducting user research including interviews and workshops in order to identify the most suitable design solution. Creating both high and low fidelity designs to share with engineers for implementation. Reviewing new features to ensure they meet the required design standards before release. Carrying out frequent UX audits of the current application to determine ways to improve existing designs Coaching and mentoring our more junior designers and the junior members of the broader tech team. What we need from you: Have a rich portfolio of work demonstrating extensive end-to-end experience designing web based applications. Are an excellent visual designer who combines typography, color, space, hierarchy, etc to create aesthetically pleasing designs. Are fluent in web design best practices and know when/why to employ existing patterns vs going custom. Put the user at the center of your design process by conducting user research, facilitating workshops and analysing behavioural data to get to the heart of their problem. Are proficient with industry design tools such as Figma (what we use), Sketch, Photoshop or Illustrator. Are a strong communicator who is able to explain the rationale behind their design decisions as well as give and receive constructive feedback.
