Are you somebody who would take pride in ensuring that our school site provides the best environment for children to learn? Do you have a good knowledge of building maintenance and repair?
Our school is looking for an enthusiastic and friendly individual who uses their initiative to join our team.
The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and work well in a team, in addition to being, hardworking, reliable, trustworthy, experienced in facilities and operational functions. Ideally they will have a qualification or working knowledge of at least one of the following skills:
1. Electrical installation/maintenance (to Edition 18)
2. Plumbing
3. Painting & Decorating
4. Carpentry
5. Grounds Maintenance
Duties will involve, but are not limited to:
6. Unlocking/locking the school. To act as key holder, which also includes responding to 'call out' when the alarm sounds out of hours
7. Maintaining all areas of our school site both internally and externally including gardening, redecoration, and small repairs
8. Working alongside the Business Manager to supervise the cleaning team
9. Liaising with contractors
10. Arranging for annual inspections e.g. gas, asbestos
11. Ensuring the outside areas are kept tidy
12. Maintaining stocks of consumables e.g. toilet rolls, paper towels, Replacing consumables e.g. lightbulbs and batteries
13. Working flexibly to support school events e.g. parents evenings, PTFA events.
14. Attend training courses as required
A full UK Driving Licence is desirable
37 hours, usually between the hours of 10am and 6pm, but flexibility is required to attend alarm callouts, and to open and close the school for events.
52 weeks which could involve some weekend work if required.
