Job Title: Quality Engineer - Manufacturing/Processing
Location: Near Chester - Nuclear Enrichment Facility (Hybrid Working Available)
Rate: £55-£65 per hour (Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: 18 Months (with potential to extend)
Security Clearance: SC Cleared or Eligible for SC

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing or processing to support a major nuclear enrichment facility near Chester. This long-term contract role offers hybrid working and an excellent opportunity to work on a secure, high-profile project.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead process mapping and write departmental procedures to drive consistency and compliance.
Use tools such as Aris (or similar) to document and optimise work-flows.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and internal quality frameworks.
Conduct internal audits - ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
Apply Lean and Six Sigma techniques to identify improvements and reduce inefficiencies.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and compliance teams to support a culture of continuous improvement.
Maintain quality documentation, support investigations, and contribute to audit readiness.
Requirements:
Background in manufacturing or processing, ideally in a highly regulated sector (nuclear, energy, defence, etc.).
Strong experience in process mapping, procedure writing, and quality assurance.
Proficient with Aris or similar process documentation tools.
Solid understanding of ISO 9001; Lead or Internal Auditor certification highly desirable.
Practical knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma (certification is a plus).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and verbal communication skills.
SC clearance required, or must be eligible to obtain SC.
Must be able to work on-site part-time (hybrid model) near Chester.
