Level II Aerospace NDT Technician

This job description provides a general overview of the areas of responsibility for this position but is by no means all-encompassing or fixed and may include other duties and responsibilities as determined by management that fall within the general responsibilities of this role.

Brinkley Propeller Services Limited / TA Brinkley Aerospace:

Brinkley Aerospace is experiencing rapid growth with exciting opportunities both in the UK and abroad. To sustain this level of growth we plan to recruit several new key team members. We are seeking dynamic and proactive NDT Technicians with the skills and potential to operate with a high level of autonomy and independence.

For this role the NDT Technician will predominately cover our customers within the South of England from either a Bournemouth radius satellite base or their home location (subject to candidate and Company agreement). The role may also require occasional travel to support our operations around the UK and abroad.

The successful candidate's primary purpose is to provide On-Wing NDT testing expertise at the customers' facilities. As required, you will occasionally support the in-house NDT Testing department in Biggleswade.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Day to day activities to include but not limited to:

* Perform NDT inspections using Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and/or Eddy Current Testing (ET) as required

* Interpret, evaluate, and document test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications

* Communicate findings in a professional manner with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams

* Complete the approved documentation including certifying the work in accordance with regulatory requirements

* Follow Company safety protocols and ensure compliance with BA and customers' quality control standards

* Assist with the management of NDT tooling and equipment

Essential Skills

The NDT Technician must have the following essential skills and experience:

Aerospace Level II in the following NDT inspection methods:

* Eddy Current
* Ultrasonic
* Dye Penetrant
* Magnetic Particle

Desirable Skills and Experience

* Radiography (
Note: Can be either EN4179 or PCN Aero)
* Experience of working in a Part 145 environment
* Minimum of 2 years' Experience of working in a "Live" hangar environment.
* Computer literate and competent using the MS Office suite
* Hold a full – clean, driving licence

The successful candidate will be directly responsible to and managed by the NDT On-Wing Manager.

Terms and Conditions

This is a full time permanent role. Applicant must have the right to live and work in the UK and travel freely worldwide.

It will be a 40 hour working week (Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00). However, given the nature of the aerospace business flexibility is essential to meet the job requirements. Overtime is available as required. The use of a company vehicle will be provided for business use only.
