ABOUT THE ROLE
The Private Members Club Chef is the key person working alongside the Senior Kitchen Managers, responsible for maintaining high standards in the kitchen. It is essential to keep food quality at the highest possible standard and to motivate and lead the kitchen team effectively.
Maintaining staff morale with a firm but fair approach is vital. A motivated team will improve productivity, confidence, and employee retention.
SALARY: £42,000 per annum
HOURS: Full Time - 40 Hours - Weekend work included
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare all necessary food for each service, managing the team and department under the direction of the Chefs
* Assist in ordering and stock control
* Conduct monthly stock takes with support from other Chefs
* Maintain quality and quantity standards, including portion control and product freshness
* Monitor gross profit percentages (GP%) for all services and dishes
* Ensure the kitchen and all food service areas are cleaned to the required standards
* Assist in writing rotas for kitchen sections
* Cover staff sickness and adhere to company policies on absenteeism
* Train and develop junior team members
* Comply with food hygiene regulations and HACCP procedures
* Follow Health and Safety Policies; maintain COSHH training
* Keep all kitchen equipment clean and in good working order
* Ensure uniforms and cloths are clean; maintain sufficient stock
* Handle investigations related to disciplinary procedures when necessary
* Ensure staff are appropriately dressed and maintain a professional appearance
* Enforce high standards of personal hygiene among staff
* Conduct and report on kitchen equipment audits
* Handle customer complaints according to company policy
* Lead by example in all aspects of the role
* Be aware of and act in line with Fire Safety Procedures
* Attend all statutory training required by the company
* Perform any reasonable requests from management
