Learning Support Practitioner
Aspire People is recruiting on behalf of a school in Smethwick for a Learning Support Practitioner to work across both schools within our Focus Provision for Autism.
Responsibilities
As a specialised support staff, you will be responsible for providing individual and small group support within the Focus Provision classes. You will work alongside the class teacher and Focus Provision team to create resources, including providing visual aids to support understanding, developing key vocabulary and supporting children with specific targets.
You will work with a range of children across the primary age range and need to be flexible and adaptable to each child's needs. You will need to have experience working with autistic children, using a range of communication strategies and autism specific approaches to teaching and learning.
Ongoing training and support will be given to successful candidates. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our newly reformed Focus Provision, which includes dedicated Focus Provision classrooms and sensory rooms in each school.
Qualifications
Experience of working with autistic children and using communication strategies and autism specific approaches to teaching and learning.
Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) required.
