Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist/Therapist to join our dynamic dental practice in Drighlington, West Yorkshire. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care and promoting oral health to our diverse patient base.
Responsibilities
* Start Date: December 2025 however we can be flexible in line with your notice period
* Days and Hours: 1 x day per week, surgery space available on a Tuesday on a 12 month fixed term basis
* GDC registered Hygiene/Therapist with extensive experience working as a hygienist in UK practice required
* Perform comprehensive dental hygiene treatments, including Airflow
* Conduct thorough oral health assessments and develop personalised treatment plans
* Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
* Administer local anaesthesia and place dental sealants as needed
* Take dental radiographs using digital technology
* Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure optimal patient care
* Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
* Stay current with the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and infection control protocols
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Dental Therapy or equivalent
* Current GDC (General Dental Council) registration as a Dental Hygienist/Therapist
* Proven experience in a dental hygiene and therapy role
* Proficiency in a wide range of dental hygiene procedures
* Strong knowledge of current dental hygiene practices and technologies
* Experience with digital radiography equipment
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
* Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
* Strong attention to detail and a patient-centered approach
* Ability to build rapport with patients of all ages and backgrounds
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and patient needs
